Which Indian professionals are using AI tools, and how? Anthropic report reveals

Anthropic's Economic Index, released in June 2026, found that computer and mathematics jobs accounted for 26.17 per cent of India's occupation-linked Claude usage, the largest share, followed by education and library jobs at 14.85 per cent and arts, design, entertainment and media at 11.82 per cent. India's combined computer, mathematics, architecture and engineering share of 29.9 per cent was the highest among the 15 largest Claude markets, ahead of Brazil at 29.4 per cent, Pakistan at 28.9 per cent, Mexico at 28.7 per cent and the US at 24 per cent. India accounted for 7.12 per cent of worldwide Claude.ai usage in May 2026, up from 6.92 per cent in April, making it the second-largest country by usage share after the US.
