# Which Claude Do You Use? Cowork and Design Move Into One Simple Interface > Source: > Published: 2026-09-16 16:33:47+00:00 Anthropic’s Claude interface is unnecessarily complicated: Cowork, Chat, and Design are available in different places, but an imminent update will make it easier to use. Soon, Claude itself will automatically determine the best next step in response to a prompt. Anthropic says, "Claude can now figure out what a task needs, so what Cowork and Design can do is available from any conversation, with the context, skills, and connectors you already have." This change comes after Anthropic found users were frustrated by the separation and often unsure which tool to use. Some projects started through Cowork weren't available in its other tools, and vice versa. Combining into a single interface will also give you easier access to Claude's creative tools, including the existing Design option and new Docs and Slides features. Docs allows you to make text documents using Claude models to generate the prose, while Slides makes presentations. Claude will draft each slide for you, and you can present them directly from the app or download them as a PDF or PowerPoint file. Claude Design launched [earlier this year](https://au.pcmag.com/ai/117196/anthropics-claude-rolls-out-new-tool-for-designers) and focuses on visual work, such as one-pagers, graphics, or prototype documents. Claude Design, Docs, and Slides all remain in beta and will be available through a new **Output** button under the prompt box. This will also house [Artifacts](https://au.pcmag.com/ai/107031/anthropic-brings-artifacts-split-screen-view-to-all-claude-users), Anthropic's shareable tools created by other users. These changes will first appear for Pro and Max subscribers, with their rollout set for the coming weeks across desktop, mobile, and the web. Free users will be able to access the updated platform at a later date. The same applies to those on Team plans and Enterprise logins, although an exact rollout window remains unclear.
