What's everybody working on (November edition)

Developer chicagobuss released version 0.5.1 of zpq, a new Parquet engine, on GitHub, following the 0.5.0 release shared in late October. The release notes and an accompanying blog post describe what the author calls "absolutely incredible" performance, with documentation built with heavy LLM assistance but verified manually.
