What If Every Stadium Had an AI Copilot?

A developer built ArenaMind, an AI copilot for stadiums, during the Google GenAI Hackathon. The platform uses Google Gemini function calling to assist fans and operations teams with multilingual support, accessibility routing, crowd management, and incident triage for events like the FIFA World Cup 2026.

🚀 Excited to share ArenaMind 🏟️🧠, the project I built for the Google GenAI Hackathon!

The challenge was to imagine how Generative AI could transform the experience of hosting one of the world's biggest sporting events—the FIFA World Cup 2026.

While building ArenaMind, I wanted to go beyond creating another chatbot. The goal was to design an AI-powered platform that could assist both **fans** and **stadium operations teams** in real time, while remaining reliable during high-footfall events through deterministic workflows and intelligent AI reasoning.

Using **Google Gemini function calling**, ArenaMind combines AI-powered decision making with structured backend logic to deliver accurate, context-aware assistance.

✅ Multilingual voice & chat companion supporting English, Spanish, Portuguese, French, Hindi, and Arabic

✅ QR e-ticket awareness for personalized gate and seat navigation

✅ Dedicated WCAG 2.1 AA wheelchair & step-free routing

✅ Real-time food stall and restroom queue monitoring

✅ Interactive crowd congestion heatmaps

✅ 30-minute predictive crowd overload forecasting with proactive mitigation alerts

✅ Natural-language Operations Assistant for venue directives

✅ AI-powered incident triage with automated P1–P4 severity classification

• Node.js

• Docker

• SOLID Architecture

One of the most rewarding aspects of this project was designing a system where AI enhances decision-making while deterministic workflows ensure reliability—even if AI services become unavailable.

Building ArenaMind reinforced how Generative AI can create meaningful impact beyond conversations by improving accessibility, navigation, crowd management, and operational efficiency for large-scale live events.

A huge thank you to Google for Developers and Hack2skill for organizing such an exciting hackathon and providing an opportunity to innovate with GenAI.

I'd love to hear your thoughts! If you were attending the FIFA World Cup 2026, which ArenaMind feature would you find the most useful?
