[Weekly Retro] The launch is just the start

Product launches in the age of AI are no longer finish lines but starting points, requiring continuous iteration on user intent, output consistency, and safety guardrails. César R. González argues that success now depends on monitoring customer outcomes rather than shipped features, fundamentally reshaping how product teams plan and measure progress.

Weekly Retro

*is a short e-mail with a wrap-up of ideas from the week, interesting links I found, and food for thought before you head off for the weekend.*Hi there!

💡 Here's a quick idea for the weekend:

In the new wave of AI products, "done" isn't a moment.

Shipping is the starting line, not the finish.

But why is iteration harder now? Because every release is a moving target:

  • Refine your understanding of user intent in each experience. - Increase the consistency of your outputs. - Improve safety guardrails to keep hallucinations under control. - Build a trust ladder, where each experience reinforces the bond with your product. - Monitor outcomes, not shipped features. Tracking whether customer goals are met.

Product iteration has always been part of the work. With AI, it becomes critical and push all of us to rethink how we plan launches, define success, and measure progress.

If you want to go deeper on this shift: How AI reshapes the product management practice. ¡Saludos!

📖 Article I've been thinking about

Agents Need Control Flow Short, technical, worth reading even if you're not an engineer. The argument: AI agents fail not because the models are weak, but because they lack structured control flow. And no: better prompts will not fix this.
