Canonry is an **open-source, agent-first agency OS for AEO and GEO**. Version 5.0 releases the full platform under the [MIT license](https://opensource.org/license/mit). Get the source on [GitHub](https://github.com/Canonry/canonry).

**All functionality from previous versions remains available in 5.0.** Your CLI, API, MCP, dashboard, integrations, measurement, and automation continue to work. The major version marks the license change.

Use the full platform commercially, modify it, self-host it, or build your own product on it.

## An agency OS your agent can operate

Your agent can take on the AEO work you would otherwise outsource: research buyer questions, investigate missing citations, prepare improvements, execute approved changes, and report the results.

Your agent works through CLI, API, or MCP, alongside its own code and content tools. You control strategy, credentials, budgets, and approvals.

## One operation across projects and markets

Canonry connects AI answers with Search Console, GA4, Bing, Google Business Profile, traffic, site audits, and [portfolio measurement](/blog/one-site-many-markets-ai-visibility). Project history, schedules, and evidence persist between agent sessions.

Start with a weak market. Your agent can inspect missing citations, check search demand and indexing, prepare a content update for approval, and compare the next measurement. **The agency work happens in one system, with the evidence behind each decision.**

## Run Canonry 5.0

```
npm install -g @canonry/canonry@5.0.0
canonry --version
```

Back up your configuration and database before upgrading. See the [quickstart](https://github.com/Canonry/canonry#quick-start).

Keep the MIT copyright and permission notice with copies. Earlier releases and third-party dependencies retain their own license terms. The software has no license fee; provider usage and infrastructure costs remain yours. [Canonry Custom](/custom) remains our paid implementation service.
