While the funding and contracts are impressive, execution risks loom. Building AI factories requires securing rare GPUs, managing power grids, and navigating local regulations. Bitdeer’s experience in energy management may mitigate some risks, but scaling from zero to $10 billion in services is unprecedented. The deal also highlights the bifurcation of cloud computing: generic cloud versus AI-specialized infrastructure. As AI models grow, demand for dedicated clusters will intensify.
