Visual Studio Code 1.123

Microsoft released Visual Studio Code 1.123 on May 29, 2026, introducing the ability to hand off chat sessions to a standalone Agents window and to add area screenshots as chat context from the integrated browser. The update also includes support for sending chat requests with only attachments, updated Electron 42 with Chromium 148 and Node.js 22.x, and fixes for BYOK reasoning model errors and Windows CLI flag failures.
