The AI wrote the login, the dashboard, and the database layer, and everything works, but it’s far from safe. With 0 logins, an attacker can forge admin invitations, alter audit logs, and change other users’ passwords. The guy is just swimming freestyle through your entire app stack.\n\nThis is just one of the 137 vulnerabilities we found in vibe-coding across the top 4 platforms.\n\nIn this piece, we curate a simple vibe coding security checklist that gives you 6 quick tests you can run in your browser in about 10 minutes.\n\nYou don’t need a security background, just DevTools and a little curiosity.\n\n## **Why these 6 checks?**\n\n5 failures showed up in every app we tested:\n\n- CORS misconfiguration\n- Missing or bypassed authentication\n- Missing frame protection\n- Missing Content-Security-Policy header\n- Weak rate limiting.\n\nThe checks below cover all five, plus two more leaks worth catching early. These checks don’t warrant a pentest, and neither need any exotic hacking skills, just simple vibe-coding best practices you can adopt before launch.\n\n## **The 10-minute vibe coding security checklist**\n\nRun these against your own app, ideally on a staging copy. Here are the six checks, starting with the fastest.\n\n### **1. Rate limiting**\n\nTry logging in eight times with the wrong password. Attempts one through five should return a generic “invalid email or password” message, and attempts six through eight should return a 429 Too Many Requests error. If you can guess passwords all day, attackers can too. All four apps in our study had missing or weak rate limiting.\n\n### **2. User enumeration**\n\nLog in with [\\[email protected\\]](https://www.getastra.com/cdn-cgi/l/email-protection), then log in with your real email and a wrong password. Both attempts should return the exact same message. If the app says “no account found” for one and “wrong password” for the other, attackers can confirm which emails have accounts.\n\n### **3. Security headers**\n\nOpen DevTools, go to the Network tab, click any request, and read the response headers. Look for Content-Security-Policy, X-Frame-Options, X-Content-Type-Options, and Referrer-Policy. All four should appear. Without the first two, injected scripts and clickjacking attacks get much easier.\n\n### **4. Payment data**\n\nView your page source (Cmd+U on Mac, Ctrl+U on Windows) and search for “1234”, “4111”, and “data-pan”. You shouldn’t find raw card numbers anywhere in the HTML.\n\n### **5. Authentication required**\n\nOpen a protected page or API endpoint in a private window without logging in. You should get a 401 Unauthorized response or a redirect to the login page, never data. This check matters most: missing or bypassed authentication appeared in all four apps, with 17 confirmed findings.\n\n### **6. CORS lockdown**\n\nOpen the Console on a different domain and run `fetch(yourApiUrl, { credentials: 'include' })`.You want a CORS error. If the request succeeds, your API trusts origins it shouldn’t, and any website could act as your logged-in users.\n\n## **What this checklist won’t catch**\n\nAs we said, this checklist can be run without a pentest, but that doesn’t mean one isn’t needed.\n\nYou still have [XXE](https://portswigger.net/web-security/xxe), deserialization flaws, race conditions, weak cryptography, business logic flaws, insecure file uploads, and zero-day simulations to deal with. Treat it as the first step in your vibe-coding security best practices, not the last.\n\n## **Turn vibe coding testing into a habit**\n\nAI tools rewrite code every time you prompt them, so a clean result today says little about next week’s build. This renders your pocket-handy-vibe-code audit indispensable before each launch and again after every major change.\n\nMoreover, if your app handles customer data, add [autonomous pentesting](https://www.getastra.com/autonomous-pentesting), that repeats these attacks after every major change. That is how we found the issues in our study, with autonomous agents attacking the running apps, and a security engineer validating every finding.\n\nWant the platform-specific checks for Lovable, Replit, Base44, and Emergent, plus a corrected prompt that closes the five universal gaps? A full vibe code audit by a pentester goes deeper, covering business logic, role-based access, and attack chains that a browser check can’t reach.\n\n### **Are vibe coded apps secure by default?**\n\nNo. All 4 AI-built apps in our study shipped with the same 5 vulnerability classes, even though the prompt asked for security controls explicitly.", "url": "https://wpnews.pro/news/vibe-coding-security-checklist-stress-test-your-ai-built-app-in-10-minutes", "canonical_source": "https://www.getastra.com/blog/security-audit/vibe-coding-security-checklist/", "published_at": "2026-11-03 11:10:53+00:00", "updated_at": "2026-11-03 12:55:05.240283+00:00", "lang": "en", "topics": ["ai-safety", "ai-tools", "ai-products"], "entities": ["Astra", "Content-Security-Policy", "X-Frame-Options", "X-Content-Type-Options", "Referrer-Policy"], "also_reported_by": [], "alternates": {"html": "https://wpnews.pro/news/vibe-coding-security-checklist-stress-test-your-ai-built-app-in-10-minutes", "markdown": "https://wpnews.pro/news/vibe-coding-security-checklist-stress-test-your-ai-built-app-in-10-minutes.md", "text": "https://wpnews.pro/news/vibe-coding-security-checklist-stress-test-your-ai-built-app-in-10-minutes.txt", "jsonld": "https://wpnews.pro/news/vibe-coding-security-checklist-stress-test-your-ai-built-app-in-10-minutes.jsonld"}}
