Perfect for onboarding an agent to a\nproject, explaining preferences and patterns and gotchas.\n\n## Per user\n\nFor instructions and preferences that Townie should *always* be aware of, you\ncan add `AGENTS.md`\n\ninstructions in a special `.config`\n\nval, which you can\ncreate and view via\n[val.town/settings/preferences](https://val.town/settings/preferences).\n\n## Per org\n\nOrgs can also create agent instructions for context shared across your team.\nLike your personal instructions, org-wide instructions live in `AGENTS.md`\n\nwithin your org's `.config`\n\nval, also accessible in org Settings > Preferences.\n\n## For any agent\n\nAgent instructions are surfaced to any agent—not just Townie—via our MCP server. So when you're using Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, or somesuch, your agent will have always read your personal instructions (and can likewise read per-org and per-val instructions).\n\n## Self-improving agents\n\nOne neat thing about `AGENTS.md`\n\nis that agents can read *and write* to the\nfile.
