The user is building a fine-tuning dataset from their own coding workflow to train the Qwen3.8 27B builder model and asked for non-Nvidia setup guidance covering Intel Arc B70/B60 and AMD ROCm RX 9700 hardware.", "body_md": "After spending some time and effort (and tokens, as one does these days) on developing a toolset for my AI assisted needs – some open sourced here: ( [KanenasInGreece (XENOFON S. MOTSENIGOS) · GitHub](https://github.com/KanenasInGreece) ) – I am slowly focusing on the finetuning front of models that fit my hardware (Intel Arc cards, now focusing on B70s). I came accross unsloth desktop and wanted to try this out.\n\nSome context first, on the dataset I am considering to drive the finetuning: I am constructing a dataset from my own coding workflow, in the general direction of the data flywheel idea, after realising that every code review and decision I save on my shared memory framework as I develop, and every finding from the reviews before merging that returns on my local builder seat is data I could use to train the builder model (Qwen3.8 27B) to better fit my needs – that includes the remmit to the builder, the worktree code returned from the builder, the review findings, the code fixes that get merged + relevant facts and decisions from shared memory development cycle. I am developing this locally to see what the curated output (as a skill ) looks like, how it should be formatted, and if it should be packaged separately from a number or python based repos I wold like to look at for finetuning data for my test.\n\nAt the same time, my first attempt, on my Fedora 44 linux workstation, naively expecting the default install process to result in something that runs on my Intel card out of the box, failed.\n\nI am now following : [Fine-tuning LLMs on Intel GPUs with Unsloth | Unsloth Documentation](https://unsloth.ai/docs/get-started/install/intel) , but I thought that people here might have some advise, hence the post.\n\nHas anyone successfully tried this installation on Linux for Intel Arc (B70, B60) or on ROCm with an RX 9700? Basically, any non-Nvidia setup. Any insights, warnings, or known workarounds would be greatly appreciated!\n\nEspecially, is there another way to train the specific model I am interested in on my hardware? I do not mind learning something new and what you suggest does not have to be trivial – I am not an AI engineer, but I am spending a lot of time immersed in it, as many of you are as well, so this is a learning exercise. I need your help to invest in the right direction…\n\n \n\n \n[LJaster](https://forum.level1techs.com/u/LJaster)\n2\n \nTo install Unsloth for the Intel Arc B70 on Fedora 44, you must manually compile the SYCL backend and configure the oneAPI environment variables.
