Using AI to clean your smart TV A viral X post from 17 October 2026 showing a parents' smart TV debloated over Wi-Fi with Claude Code drew 7.4 million views and grew into a community project, cleanyour.tv, that collected 170+ TV models from 200+ contributors in four days. The project uses Android TV's USB debugging bridge to back up installed packages and settings, disable manufacturer telemetry, ad services and preloaded apps via `pm disable-user` without uninstalling anything, and install a small native launcher as the default home screen, with a one-line restore script to undo every step. Users need a computer on the same Wi-Fi running a shell-capable coding assistant such as Claude Code, Codex or Gemini CLI, or an Android phone with the community-built Clean Your TV app, which completes the process in about five minutes.
