No CLI. No config files. Just the app.

Get the latest version from [claude.ai/download](https://claude.ai/download). Older builds don't have the developer mode option.

Do not sign in yet. The third-party config only appears before you log into an Anthropic account.

Open the app. Click the menu icon in the top-right corner.

Go to: **Help > Troubleshooting > Enable Developer Mode**

A new **Developer** section will appear in the top-right menu.

Click the menu again, go to **Developer > Configure Third-Party Inference**.

A dialog will open. Fill it in exactly like this:

**Sometime this will appear for timeout, no problem just Click "Apply" and use it**

Model discovery — Gateway /v1/models was unreachable: The operation was aborted due to timeout The connection test needs at least one model — add entries under Models to skip discovery, or fix the provider's model list endpoint.

After signing up on any platform above, go to their dashboard and look for an **API Keys** or **Developer** section. You need two things:

- **API Key** — usually starts with`sk-`
- **Base URL** —
Copy the Base URL for whichever platform you signed up on and paste it into the**Gateway Base URL** field in Claude Desktop.
