Unemployed and overthinking every life choice, so I built a Dual-Oracle (Tarot + I Ching) Decision Matrix to predict my job hunt

A developer built HexaPodSphere, an esoteric intelligence platform featuring a Real-Time Decision Matrix Engine that combines Tarot and I Ching readings with 12-hour temporal entropy and birth frequency hashing. The tool, built with Next.js, TypeScript, and Tailwind CSS, is free and aims to provide interactive, analytical daily readings for decision-making.

Like many fresh CS grads struggling in this job market, I’ve spent the past few months trapped in an endless loop of overthinking. Should I keep applying for backend roles? Should I relocate? Should I start my own thing?

To cope with the anxiety and stay sharp with my coding skills, I decided to combine two of my biggest passions: software engineering and esoteric philosophy.

I built HexaPodSphere—an esoteric intelligence platform designed to make daily readings interactive and analytical rather than just static text.

My main personal tool on the site is the Real-Time Decision Matrix Engine. 💡 How It Works Under the Hood:

Instead of relying on random AI wrappers or static generic horoscopes, I engineered a dual-oracle system:

The Heart vs. The Mind: It evaluates your query through Tarot (subconscious/emotional readiness) paired directly against I Ching (tactical/environmental timing).

12-Hour Temporal Entropy: It factors in 12-hour time cycles (Shi-Chen cycles in Eastern metaphysics), so casting a decision in the morning vs. late at night registers shifting environmental energies.

Birth Frequency Hashing: Optionally combines your Date of Birth (DOB) with the query string through djb2 hashing algorithms to align card draws specifically to your profile.

Tech Stack: Next.js, TypeScript, Tailwind CSS, pre-rendered static routes for performance, and a procedural synthesis engine to deliver structured, deep analysis without slow API lags.

I originally coded this just to test my own fortune and give myself some clarity while looking for work, but it turned out surprisingly fun and insightful to use.

It’s 100% free with no paywalls or sign-ups required. I’d love for you guys to test your own burning decisions on it and give me honest feedback on the UI, reading logic, or response speed!

Thanks for checking it out!
