UK Lawmakers Back Rules To Create AI 'Killswitch' and Stop Artificial Superintelligence

Lord Tim Clement-Jones has proposed an amendment to the UK's upcoming Cyber Security and Resilience Bill that would create a 'kill switch' able to be activated in an emergency to shut down a rogue AI. The proposal follows US Sen. Bernie Sanders introducing a bill to preemptively stop the creation of artificial superintelligence (ASI), as the UK ranks just behind China and the US in AI development funding.
