MSI recently launched the Claw 8 EX AI+, and its $1,799.99 price tag instantly made it one of the most expensive gaming handhelds on the market. While the new model packs high-end hardware, being the very first handheld fitted with an Intel Arc G3 Extreme chip, many gamers simply aren’t willing to spend that much on a portable gaming device.

MSI Claw 8 AI+ A2VM
The first model on sale is the MSI Claw 8 AI+, which normally sells for $1,299.99. Thanks to the current deal, you can save $220, bringing the price down to $1,079.99.
The handheld is powered by an Intel Core Ultra 7 258V processor and comes with 32GB of LPDDR5x RAM alongside a 1TB PCIe 4.0 SSD. It also features an 8-inch 1920 x 1200 IPS touchscreen with a 120Hz refresh rate and Variable Refresh Rate support for smoother gameplay.
Graphics duties are handled by the integrated Intel Arc 140V GPU, which supports modern features like ray tracing and Intel XeSS upscaling. The device also includes two Thunderbolt 4 ports, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.4, Hall Effect sticks and triggers, RGB lighting, and an 80Wh battery that can deliver several hours of gaming on a single charge.

MSI Claw A8 BZ2EM
The second discounted model is the standard MSI Claw A8. This handheld was originally priced at $1,299, but B&H has cut $140 off the price, bringing it down to $1,159.
The Claw A8 shares several features with the Claw 8 AI+, including the same 8-inch 120Hz display, 1TB SSD, Hall Effect controls, Wi-Fi 7 connectivity, and 80Wh battery. The biggest difference, however, is under the hood. Instead of Intel hardware, this model uses AMD’s Ryzen Z2 Extreme processor paired with 24GB of LPDDR5x memory and integrated Radeon 890M graphics. The Ryzen Z2 Extreme is designed specifically for gaming handhelds and offers excellent performance in modern titles while maintaining good power efficiency.
B&H says these discounted prices are only available while supplies last. Once the current stock sells out, both handhelds will return to their original prices. So, if you’ve been considering picking up an MSI Claw but couldn’t justify the new $1,799.99 Claw 8 EX AI+, these deals offer a much more affordable way to get into MSI’s handheld ecosystem.
