# Two EU AI Act translations use FLOPs/s instead of cumulative FLOPs

# AI Act, Portuguese and Croatian versions: the 10^25 threshold of Article 51(2) is measured per second

The other 22 versions measure the cumulative amount of computation in floating point operations, without a time unit. The added words do not fit the cumulative quantity described in the same paragraph. Recital 111 and Annex XIII, point (c), support a total number of operations.

### Consequence

In a hypothetical case with a constant training rate, 2×10^25 operations over a million seconds means 2×10^19 operations per second. The total is above 10^25; the rate is not.

### Proposed correction

Delete the words per second (por segundo, u sekundi) in Article 51(2).
