Users select their fitness level, sport, available time, and location, and the system returns a concrete outdoor challenge that always includes a real-world \"touch grass\" moment. The project supports sports including running, basketball, cycling, yoga, swimming, climbing, parkour, volleyball, tennis, skateboarding, martial arts, and hiking, and runs on local inference rather than a closed cloud API.", "body_md": "*This is a submission for the [Hacktoberfest Open-Source AI Challenge Week 1: Touch Grass](https://dev.to/challenges/hacktoberfest-week1-2026-10-05)*\n\n**Touch Grass Sports AI** is a fully offline open-source AI that generates personalized outdoor sports challenges. \n\nIts only mission: get you off the screen and into the real world.\n\nYou pick your fitness level, sport, available time, and location. It replies with a concrete challenge that **must** be done outside and always includes a real “touch grass” moment.\n\nSupports many sports: running, basketball, cycling, yoga, swimming, climbing, parkour, volleyball, tennis, skateboarding, martial arts, hiking, and more.\n\nWorks in two modes:\n\n**GitHub**: [https://github.com/gabutersproject/touch-grass-sports-ai](https://github.com/gabutersproject/touch-grass-sports-ai)\n\nBuilt entirely around open-source AI and local inference:\n\nA closed cloud API would have killed the whole idea.\n\nThanks for reading!\n\nGo outside.
