Dhaliwal hailed from Yuba City, while Saini was from Salem, Ore., the agency said. All three of them were in a 2024 BMW M3 sedan around 9:30 that evening when it went off Highway 9 east of Redwood Gulch Road and crashed down an embankment, according to the California Highway Patrol. Authorities suspect the sedan’s driver lost control of the car at some point, but a more precise cause for the crash remains under investigation.
