One key feature that sets Effect apart is how it leverages structured concurrency to provide features such as async cancellation and safe resource management, making it easier to build robust, scalable, and efficient programs.\n\nTo get started, below you’ll find links to our documentation and our guide for installing Effect. Enjoy!\n\n**Recent major updates:**\n\n## Technology\n\n### Effect v4 Beta updates\n\nThe v4 beta entered July with a focus on correctness fixes, URL API refinements, and an expanding AI documentation effort.\n\n-\n**Schema & class fixes**: Fixed excess property handling in schema-backed class constructors, fixed `StructuralProto`\n\nequality, and preserved content schema identifiers when emitting JSON Schema for `Schema.fromJsonString`\n\n. Also fixed `RequestResolver`\n\ninterruption to prevent silent drops during fiber cancellation.\n\n-\n**URL API refinement**: Moved `UrlParams.makeUrl`\n\nto `Url.make`\n\nfor a cleaner API surface, and accepted `UrlParams.Input`\n\nin additional `UrlParams`\n\nAPIs for more ergonomic URL construction.\n\n-\n**HttpApi fixes**: Ensured handler errors don’t cause `HttpApi`\n\nsecurity middleware to fall back to unauthenticated behavior, fixed `HttpApi`\n\nto return `400`\n\nfor malformed JSON request bodies, and fixed `Schedule.andThenResult`\n\nto correctly emit self outputs as `Failure`\n\nand other outputs as `Success`\n\n.\n\n-\n**OpenTelemetry**: Rendered nested error causes in tracer exception events for deeper observability into chained failures.\n\n-\n**String utilities**: Fixed string case conversion for numeric word segments (e.g. `\"v4Beta\"`\n\n→ `\"v-4-beta\"`\n\ninstead of losing the digit boundary).\n\n-\n**AI documentation expansion**: Added `Schema`\n\nand `Predicate`\n\nintroductions to the AI docs, and rearranged the Schedule AI docs section for better discoverability.\n\nFull changelog in the [effect repository](https://github.com/Effect-TS/effect).\n\nTo catch up on all the updates so far, check out **Effect v4 Beta updates**.\n\nOther technical changes from the past week.\n\n### Effect AI\n\nVisit our [Effect Community Events calendar](https://luma.com/effect-community) and subscribe for updates on upcoming Effect events.\n\n-\nX Live Studio fully written in Effect! 🖤\n\n-\nThey even got the hats!\n\n-\n[Birdclaw](https://github.com/steipete/birdclaw) by Peter Steinberger, built with Effect!\n\n-\nA talk about using Effect in production at OpenGov at AI Engineer 2026.\n\n[ Play ](https://youtube.com/watch?v=4uFVSLgD2Q4)\n**Effect.ts AI: Building a ChatGPT App**, **Cloudflare Workers with Effect & RPC** & **Effect Schema V4 Crash Course** from Lucas Barake.\n\n[ Play ](https://youtube.com/watch?v=suSRxMpq45o)\n[ Play ](https://youtube.com/watch?v=c42nm8eSCh8)\n[ Play ](https://youtube.com/watch?v=0naAPm0-0Wg)\n-\n[effect-typed-id](https://github.com/just-be-dev/effect-typed-id) – Effect TypeScript implementation of the TypeID spec.
