Randy is VP of Technology and Strategy at Mirantis. He co-authored the " Pets vs Cattle " model that shaped how a generation thinks about infrastructure, served as an inaugural board director of the OpenStack Foundation, and founded Cloud Scaling, which was acquired by EMC. He was building on the internet before there was a commercial internet, and using AWS EC2 in private beta when it had a single instance size and nobody knew what it was.
