**[gknowledge](https://github.com/openapi/gknowledge) 0.3 is out.** Six days after [0.2](https://github.com/orgs/openapi/discussions/71), the native GNOME app that turns your documents into an LLM-maintained wiki now installs on **any Linux distribution**, and it knows when a page is out of date.

## What's new in 0.3.0

- **Flatpak for every distro.** Fedora, Arch, openSUSE, Ubuntu: one command, GNOME 51 runtime, no access to your home folder (files are opened through portals), PDF import included.
- **Pages that know their source changed.** Wiki pages rarely go wrong because the model hallucinates; they go stale because the document they came from changed. gknowledge now compares every ingested source with its original file, marks the ones that changed, and**Update** re-extracts the new version. Thanks to Justin ([@fromthearchitect](https://dev.to/fromthearchitect) ) for the feedback that started this.
- **Re-ingest and remove sources** , keeping shared pages that other sources still support (thanks[@Aaqibhafeezkhan](https://github.com/Aaqibhafeezkhan) ,[Show us the smallest useful thing you built on an API #30](https://github.com/orgs/openapi/discussions/30) ).
- **MCP** : a new`stale_sources` tool, so Claude Code, Codex or Cursor can check the wiki for drift. The server is on PyPI:`uvx gknowledge-mcp` .

New contributors are already picking up issues. There are [good first issues](https://github.com/openapi/gknowledge/issues?q=is%3Aissue+is%3Aopen+label%3A%22good+first+issue%22) for Python and GTK, and README translations into Swahili, Hausa, Yoruba, Amharic, Arabic, Hindi, Indonesian, Bengali and Vietnamese. Once your first contribution is merged, add yourself to the [Openapi® contributors](https://github.com/openapi/contributors) registry.

If you try it on a distribution other than Ubuntu, tell us how it went in the replies below. And if it is useful, a ⭐ on [GitHub](https://github.com/openapi/gknowledge) helps other Linux users find it.
