gknowledge 0.3 is out. Six days after 0.2, the native GNOME app that turns your documents into an LLM-maintained wiki now installs on any Linux distribution, and it knows when a page is out of date.
What's new in 0.3.0 #
- Flatpak for every distro. Fedora, Arch, openSUSE, Ubuntu: one command, GNOME 51 runtime, no access to your home folder (files are opened through portals), PDF import included.
- Pages that know their source changed. Wiki pages rarely go wrong because the model hallucinates; they go stale because the document they came from changed. gknowledge now compares every ingested source with its original file, marks the ones that changed, andUpdate re-extracts the new version. Thanks to Justin (@fromthearchitect ) for the feedback that started this.
- Re-ingest and remove sources , keeping shared pages that other sources still support (thanks@Aaqibhafeezkhan ,Show us the smallest useful thing you built on an API #30 ).
- MCP : a new
stale_sourcestool, so Claude Code, Codex or Cursor can check the wiki for drift. The server is on PyPI:uvx gknowledge-mcp.

New contributors are already picking up issues. There are good first issues for Python and GTK, and README translations into Swahili, Hausa, Yoruba, Amharic, Arabic, Hindi, Indonesian, Bengali and Vietnamese. Once your first contribution is merged, add yourself to the Openapi® contributors registry.
If you try it on a distribution other than Ubuntu, tell us how it went in the replies below. And if it is useful, a ⭐ on GitHub helps other Linux users find it.
