It looks simple. On a phone screen it's brutal. The timing window is tiny, the rope arcs have to read at a glance, the input has to feel fair at 60 frames a second, and the moment any of it is slightly off the whole thing feels broken. I tried to build that game for two years, on and off, and I never got the mechanic to feel right.\n\nIn September I opened Claude Code on Fable 5.1, described the game the way I'd describe it to a friend, and it pretty much one-shotted it. Not a prototype. The mechanic I'd been chasing for two years, with the feel right, in the first pass. From there it was prompts here and there: tighten the timing window, make the miss feel fair, add the endless mode. Double Dutch Derby was done in two days. Everything around it took a week: the store listings, the screenshots, the release tooling, the ads, the marketing. A whole small company, in a week, by one person.\n\nA week. That is unheard of. And it sparked something.\n\n## Nobody around me could see it\n\nI kept trying to explain what had just happened. Not \"AI helps me code faster.\" Something bigger: the amount of company one person can carry has changed, and it changed this year, and almost nobody has updated their picture of what's possible. The people around me nodded and went back to planning quarters the way they always had.\n\nI could see it. So I left the startup I co-founded two years ago and started my own company. Not because anything was wrong there. Because the thing I could now do by myself was bigger than the thing we were doing together, and I couldn't unsee it.\n\n## Two days\n\nThe day after I left, I started Leave Your Agent. Two days later, this existed:\n\n- **The company.** Name, brand, positioning, pricing, the manifesto, the legal pages, the press kit.\n- **This website.** The one you're reading, with the waitlist behind it, running on Cloudflare.\n- **The marketing.** Social campaigns for Instagram, TikTok, Threads, X and LinkedIn, and a set of marketing videos rendered from code so every variant shares the same brand tokens as the site.\n- **The app.** A demo of the iOS app, on TestFlight, that you can[try right now](https://testflight.apple.com/join/EXTQvCGW) .\n- **The backend.** The infrastructure on Google Cloud, laid down as code with the security controls in place from the first apply, and the mobile app wired to it.\n\nTwo days for all of that is ridiculous. I know how it sounds. Two months ago I would have said it was impossible, and I'm the one who did it.\n\n## How I actually work\n\nTwo models, and I'm strict about it. Fable 5.1 is the main session: it holds the whole picture of the company, the brand rules, the product decisions, and it does the hard things, like the jump rope mechanic and the encryption design. Opus 5.5 runs every subagent: the research, the exploration, the review passes, the parallel builds. Nothing smaller, ever. The cost of a wrong answer is far higher than the cost of a token.\n\nMy job is the part the models can't do: knowing what to build, knowing what's right when I see it, and saying no. I write the rules once, in plain language, and they hold across every session: what Leave is called, what it never claims to be, which colors, which words, which AI chats we name. Then I describe outcomes, not steps. The model reads the codebase, does the work, checks it, ships it, and tells me what went out. When it's wrong, I say so once and it's a rule from then on.\n\nI'm not typing faster. I'm running a company the way a founder used to run a team of twenty.\n\n## The first one-person unicorn\n\nPeople have been predicting a one-person billion-dollar company for a couple of years now. I expect Leave to be it, and I'm saying so out loud on day two so you can hold me to it.\n\nHere's why this is the one. There are hundreds of thousands of college and high school athletes with NIL money moving through their hands, and the model taking a cut of it is a hundred years old. Leave isn't an agent. It makes you your own, and it belongs to you. It's $99 a month and zero percent of any deal, ever. That's a business one person can run, because the product is software, the distribution is the AI chats athletes already use, ChatGPT, Claude, or Gemini, and the marketing renders from code. There's no sales floor, no agency, no percentage. There's an athlete, their phone, and Leave.\n\nI want to be first, and I intend to be. But the bigger point is what it proves. Most of what you've been told takes a team, a funding round and a runway now takes one person who can see it.\n\n## Transparent by default\n\nLeave is a consumer product. Athletes will put their contracts, their deals and their private plans into it, and a lot of them are eighteen. You don't earn that kind of trust with a badge on a landing page. You earn it by showing your work, so that's what I'm doing.\n\n- The [security page](https://leaveyouragent.com/security) lists everything Leave does to protect your data, and every claim is labeled with where it stands today: live, in testing, or before launch. Only you can, with a key you hold and can revoke.\n- The encryption code on your phone will be open source before launch, so you can check that your key never leaves your device.\n- Every vendor that touches Leave data is named, along with exactly what it gets. There's a transparency report, and the count is zero requests.\n\nI'll keep writing here as the company grows: what got built, what broke, what it cost, what I got wrong.
