The Center on Long-Term Risk (CLR) announced its mission to address worst-case risks from advanced AI, focusing on harmful propensities in AI systems and cooperation failures between such systems. The organization conducts interdisciplinary research, makes grants, and builds a community to reduce involuntary suffering in humans, non-human animals, and potential artificial minds.

This includes human suffering, but also the suffering in non-human animals and potential artificial minds of the future. In accordance with a diverse range of moral views https://reducing-suffering.org/the-horror-of-suffering/ The moral urgency of suffering is widely recognized , we believe that suffering, especially extreme suffering, cannot be easily outweighed by large amounts of happiness.
