OpenAI announced Dots, an always-on AI personal assistant that works in the background via a secure cloud computer, at its DevDay 2026 event in San Francisco on Tuesday, rolling out to Pro and Business Premium enterprise plan users. OpenAI also launched GPT-6.1 Sol, which it says is nearly as intelligent as GPT-6 Astra but costs less than a quarter the price at $2 per million input tokens, $0.10 per million cached input tokens, and $10 per million output tokens, plus a $500-per-month Pro 500 plan with Ultrafast, which generates up to 300 tokens per second, 8 times faster, and 6 times standard speed in the API.
