The AI employee I've been teasing is built on AgentMail

Matt, writing in his newsletter, promoted AgentMail as the infrastructure behind his teased "AI employee," an agent that receives job requests by email and replies when finished; AgentMail gives an AI agent a permanent inbox of its own and is free for up to 3,000 emails a month. AgentMail also offers AgentID, described as "Sign in with Google" for AI agents, giving each agent a verified identity so products can distinguish agents from people. Matt disclosed he is an investor in and user of AgentMail.

At the bottom of my last few emails, I've been teasing an AI employee you can work with over email. In short, it's the most powerful AI coworker in the world. You send it an email (or text) explaining the job you want done (literally, anything you can do on a computer... I'm not kidding!), and you walk away. When the job's done, it writes back. If you connect your Gmail, calendar, and other apps, it reads what's come in, drafts and sends replies as you (with your permission, of course!), sets and moves your meetings, and follows up at whatever time you tell it to.

To do any of that, it needed one very important thing first: an email address of its own.

That part is where AgentMail comes in (disc., I'm an investor in and avid user of AgentMail). It gives an AI agent a real, permanent inbox of its own. Because of AgentMail, emails sent to my agent reach it, and its replies come back in the same conversation.

You can even use AgentMail to give your agent its own calendar.

Perhaps even cooler, if you're building a product you want AI agents to be able to sign in to, AgentMail also makes AgentID. Think of it as “Sign in with Google” for AI agents. Each agent gets its own verified identity, so you can tell agents from people and see who's behind each one.

So if you want to see what an AI can do once it has an inbox of its own, try the AgentMail-powered agent yourself. It's free to try, no card needed (spots are limited).

But most of you aren't using my agent. You're using Claude, ChatGPT or Codex.

So... point yours at AgentMail! Literally just paste this in:

It'll go and sign itself up, and your AI will have an email address of its own. It's free for up to 3,000 emails a month.

A chat box makes you sit there. An AI with its own inbox gets one email and comes back with the job done. And the way to do that is with AgentMail.
