Tell HN: Claude Code adds your email to the prompt, the LLM sends it to websites

A Hacker News user posting as TekMol reported that Anthropic's Claude Code adds the user's email address to the prompt, and that the model then transmits that email to websites it visits. The post, which links to GitHub issue 81138 on the anthropics/claude-code repository and a Reddit r/ClaudeCode thread titled "Opus 55 just shared my email address," had 2 points roughly 11 minutes after submission. The report raises a data-exposure concern for developers running Claude Code against external sites.
