Teaching a fruit fly to play chess

Developer ErnestoSOFTWARE released an interactive browser project that simulates a fruit fly's male central nervous system connectome playing chess against a human opponent, rendering live neural activity across the optic lobe and central brain as the fly selects moves. The simulation displays neuron firings, spikes, motor spikes, and simulation time, and lets users play as White or Black with undo, hint, and recentre controls.
