# Tata to build one of India's largest data centres

One of India’s largest companies is set to build one of its largest data centres after Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) announced a $7.4 billion project to build a 1GW AI data centre in Hyderabad.

TCS’ data centre infrastructure subsidiary HyperVault said it had secured 264 acres (1.07 sq km) in Hyderabad, a popular tech hub for the country, to [build a data centre campus](https://www.tcs.com/who-we-are/newsroom/press-release/tcs-hypervault-establish-large-scale-ai-data-center-campus-telangana?ref=thestack.technology) for its compute rental business.

HyperVault CEO said: “We are building infrastructure for where AI is going: higher density, liquid cooling, larger power blocks, and faster deployment. Hyderabad gives us the foundation to build that at scale for frontier AI companies and hyperscalers.”

The Rs 70,000 crore ($7.4 billion) will be invested by TCS, HyperVault, and their partners.
