Stripe Buys A.I. Startup OpenRouter for $7.5B

Stripe, the payments company, has acquired OpenRouter, an A.I. startup, for $7.5 billion, according to a New York Times report. The acquisition marks Stripe's largest deal to date and signals its push into A.I. infrastructure. OpenRouter, which provides a unified interface for accessing multiple large language models, will operate as an independent unit within Stripe.
