Hi Ryan Merket,
We've added support for text watermarking to SpaceXSI API outputs. Text outputs from the following SpaceXSI API models will include a watermark by default:
• grok-4.7
• grok-4.6
• grok-4.5
• grok-4.3
• grok-4.20-reasoning
• grok-4.20-non-reasoning
• grok-4.20-multi-agent
Watermarking is on by default for all teams and will be enabled on November 7, 2026. If you believe an exception under the law applies to your use, you can opt out per model from the SpaceXSI Console as described below. If you don't plan to opt out, no action is needed.
How to opt out
-
Open the Team settings page, select the “General” tab on the left panel, and find the Model output watermarking row. It shows On (all models), Off (all models), or Custom. Only team admins see this row.
-
Select the settings icon next to it, then clear the checkbox for each model you want to opt out. Select all turns every model on or off at once.
-
Select Save. If you turned a model off, confirm with Opt Out.
New models Any new model we launch in the future will include the watermark by default from launch. You can also opt out of new models from the SpaceXSI Console, but a new model will only appear there once it has launched.

Why it matters #
Startups building on Grok inherit a provider watermark by default on November 7th, 2026, and opting out shifts marking and disclosure responsibility onto the team under the EU AI Act deadline of December 2nd, 2026.
SpaceXSI will turn on invisible text watermarking by default for Grok API outputs on November 7th, 2026, covering seven models and every API endpoint the company runs. The company says the change is to comply with the EU AI Act in its output watermarking documentation.…
