According to TechCrunch, South Korea's financial institutions including brokerages Daishin Securities and Mirae Asset Global Investments, and crypto exchange Bithumb, were targeted in a fresh wave of cyberattacks. Daishin reported exposure of personal information for 38,490 customers including names, email addresses, and mobile phone numbers. Security researchers linked the attacks to a suspected China-based actor using an AI penetration testing tool called Artex, continuing a pattern that began in September.
