# Snapyo — free TikTok, Reels & YouTube Shorts downloader (video + MP3), built in 2 days > Source: > Published: 2026-09-15 18:29:02+00:00 Every TikTok downloader is either covered in ads, forces sketchy apps, or bait-and-switches with "premium." So I built my own. **Snapyo** — paste a link, get the file. That's it. **What's inside:** Built solo in a couple of days with Claude Code + Cursor, then spent longer fixing edge cases — iOS Safari download quirks, CDN redirects, ffmpeg failing on Instagram until I stopped feeding it URLs directly, YouTube's bot detection until I got cookies auth working. Also wrote 17 blog posts about how downloaders actually work — watermarks, video quality, MP3 extraction, iOS vs Android saves. Most of what people think they know about this stuff is wrong. 1 week in, ~50 organic users a day. No monetization yet, just running to see where it goes.
