# Skydio and Skylark Labs Partner to Bring Self-Learning AI to Autonomous Drone Operations

[Skylark Labs](https://skylarklabs.ai/), a U.S.-based artificial intelligence (AI) company building self-learning AI for physical systems, today announced a technology partnership with [Skydio](https://www.skydio.com/), the largest U.S.-based drone manufacturer and world leader in flying robots, to deliver customizable, self-learning AI analytics to drone operations serving utilities, power, and other critical infrastructure customers.

The collaboration will connect video streams from Skydio systems to Kepler, Skylark Labs' AI analytics platform, giving customers access to diverse AI capabilities that can be selected and customized for their specific missions.

This partnership will be available for customers in critical infrastructure, where utilities, energy companies and industrial operators increasingly use autonomous drones for inspection, monitoring, security, and situational awareness. Skydio already serves more than 1300 critical infrastructure companies, including more than 450 utility and energy companies.

The partnership is built around a simple premise: different customers need different kinds of AI, and that intelligence must be dependable when deployed in complex real-world environments.

Through Kepler, customers can start with the analytics they need today, tailor those capabilities around their operations, and expand them as requirements evolve. Skylark Labs' self-learning AI is designed to adapt after deployment, help improve accuracy, learn new signals of interest, and support customer-specific capabilities over time.

*"Skydio has built an incredibly capable autonomous drone platform. Our role is to extend what customers can do with it,"* Dr. Amarjot Singh, founder and CEO of Skylark Labs, shares.

*"Different missions require different intelligence, and customers should be able to shape that intelligence around their operation. With Kepler, they can start with the analytics they need today, help improve accuracy as the system learns their environment, teach it new signals, and build new capabilities with us as their requirements evolve."*

## Built around the customer

A utility inspecting substations may need very different intelligence from an energy company monitoring pipelines or an industrial operator securing a large facility. Kepler is designed to provide that flexibility so customers can apply different analytics to different missions, refine existing capabilities around their workflows, and work with Skylark Labs to develop customer-specific AI features when their requirements extend beyond an existing analytic.

The platform is designed to be built with the customer, not simply delivered to them.

A deployment can begin with one use case and expand over time—by adding analytics, learning new signals, supporting new missions, and extending the same intelligence layer to additional sites.

Skylark Labs' self-learning capability is particularly relevant in physical environments, where site-specific conditions can affect AI performance. If an object, background, or environmental condition repeatedly generates an unnecessary alert, the system is designed to learn from that pattern and help improve accuracy. If the customer later identifies something new it wants to monitor, that signal can be added to the intelligence layer.
