# Skild AI tops robotics funding with $2.2B raised, valued at over $14B

The Pittsburgh startup went from stealth to the largest robotics AI funding round in history in under two years

Skild AI, a robotics startup that didn’t even exist three years ago, has now raised more than $2.2 billion in total funding. Its latest round, a $1.4 billion Series C closed in January 2026, valued the company at over $14 billion. That’s the largest reported robotics AI funding round to date, and it tripled the company’s valuation in just seven months.

## From zero to $14 billion in record time

Skild AI was founded in 2023 by Deepak Pathak and Abhinav Gupta. The company emerged from stealth in July 2024 with a $300 million Series A that valued it at $1.5 billion. A seed round of approximately $14.5 million preceded that, and a Series B followed, pushing the valuation to around $4.5 billion.

Then came the Series C. SoftBank led the $1.4 billion round, joined by a roster of investors that reads like a who’s-who of tech capital: NVIDIA’s NVentures, Bezos Expeditions, Lightspeed, Coatue, and Sequoia Capital. Strategic investors including LG, Schneider Electric, and Salesforce Ventures also participated.

The revenue trajectory helps explain the investor enthusiasm. Skild went from zero revenue to approximately $30 million within a few months during 2025.

## What the “Skild Brain” actually does

Most robotics companies build software tailored to specific robots performing specific tasks. Skild is taking the opposite approach. Its foundation model is hardware-agnostic, meaning the same AI can theoretically operate a warehouse robot, a humanoid, or an industrial arm without needing custom training for each platform.

The company bolstered this vision in April 2026 by acquiring Zebra Technologies’ Robotics Automation business, which previously operated as Fetch Robotics. That deal brought warehouse-focused assets and fleet management software into Skild’s portfolio, giving the company a practical deployment channel for its technology.
