Show HN: Withmcp – A quick, system-wide MCP toggle

A developer released Withmcp, a custom harness launcher that provides a system-wide toggle for Model Context Protocol (MCP) servers, addressing the lack of a way to temporarily disable a configured server in tools like Claude Code. The tool lets users configure an MCP for any service without consuming context window space on warnings such as expired logins, and keeps credentials off the same host as the agent.

MCP seem to be going out of fashion, but for many authenticated services it still seems to be the easiest and most straightforward way to interact with the system, in particular if you don't want credentials to be on the same host as the agent. However, the most popular harnesses have really rudimentary MCP support. For example, Claude Code has no way to temporarily disable a configured server.
