Show HN: Simply @dotlink in ChatGPT web, space or dot to access local files, tools Developer abird-ai released dotlink, a single statically linked Rust MCP binary that gives ChatGPT web, dots and spaces the ability to build and run tools and access local files, according to the project's Show HN post. dotlink offers fine-grained read, write and shell permissions, profiles, and a Bubblewrap sandbox on Linux, and works without a local port by using the OpenAI MCP tunnel rather than a third-party relay. The repository is at github.com/abird-ai/dotlink. Built dotlink to give chatgpt codex abilities, letting chatgpt web, the new dots and spaces, build and run tools and access files directly in your local machine. Been using it for a while, when I'm out of codex limits or giving chatgpt controlled access to several machines without installing chatgpt app. So thought I'll package it for others to use. It’s a single statically linked lightweight Rust MCP binary with fine-grained read/write/shell permissions, profuiles and a Bubblewrap sandbox on Linux and also works without any local port uses OpenAI MCP tunnel or third-party relay.
