Portus, a Rust-based API, AI and MCP gateway built on the Rama networking stack, has been released on GitHub and conforms with the Kubernetes Gateway API specification, passing 130 of 130 tests across all profiles. Portus uses a split control/data plane architecture, replaced Pingora with Rama for better throughput and lower resource usage, and runs in standalone mode outside Kubernetes via a Yaml config file with built-in ACME support.
