{"slug": "show-hn-plurnk-yet-another-ai-harness", "title": "Show HN: Plurnk (Yet *Another* AI Harness)", "summary": "A developer released Plurnk, a homebrewed AI agent harness, on Hacker News' Show HN, claiming it runs as a daily driver on an RTX 5070Ti with 16GB VRAM and a 200MB footprint. Plurnk features deterministic model-driven context curation, a dozen ANTLR-grammar verbs, pseudo-URI addressable resources, treesitter-built repo graphs searchable via glob, regex, jsonpath, xpath, graph, and sqlite fulltext, plus MCP2, AG-UI, and A2A standards support and CLI, TUI, and Neovim interfaces. The post received 1 point and 0 comments.", "body_md": "I am desperate for feedback on my homebrewed harness, \"Plurnk.\"\n\nI've been dogfooding it on my RTX5070Ti with only 16GB VRAM as my daily driver for weeks now and it's genuinely better than everything else available (I'm biased).\n\n1. Curation, not Compaction\n\nThe model's fully responsible (bitter lesson) for deterministically curating its own context.\n\n2. ANTLR Grammar\n\nThe dozen verbs for the harness are optimized for model pretraining, looking like markdown while being fully integrated with an EBNF grammar that plugs into an AST for superior workflow and recovery.\n\n3. Universal Resources\n\nEverything's addressable by the model through a pseudo-URI interface, including the log entries.\n\n4. Omnipatterns\n\nEverything in the repo goes through treesitters which build a complete graph that the model can search with glob, regex, jsonpath, xpath, graph, and sqlite fulltext.\n\n5. Standards\n\nMCP2 tools, AG-UI client interface, A2A \"agent to agent\", plugs into everything through OAI spec + models.dev\n\n6. Interfaces\n\nCLI, TUI, and a Neovim plugin, easy to extend, very pluggable\n\n7. Lean Agent\n\nService/Client architecture with lean TUI allows dozens of agents to run on weak hardware. 200MB footprint.\n\n8. Lean Context\n\nAchieves all of the \"batteries includes\" features of a fat harness while the sysprompt is only slightly larger than pi agent's.\n\nIt started as a proof of concept for my bespoke opinions on what \"bitter lesson\" actually means, and it's gone so well that I believe others trying to build agentic workflows, especially with local and humble constraints, could benefit from the proven concepts.\n\nComments URL: [https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=49720466](https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=49720466)\n\nPoints: 1\n\n# Comments: 0", "url": "https://wpnews.pro/news/show-hn-plurnk-yet-another-ai-harness", "canonical_source": "https://github.com/plurnk/plurnk", "published_at": "2026-09-15 23:57:14+00:00", "updated_at": "2026-09-16 00:08:24.379999+00:00", "lang": "en", "topics": ["ai-agents", "ai-tools", "developer-tools", "ai-products"], "entities": ["Plurnk", "RTX 5070Ti", "ANTLR", "MCP2", "AG-UI", "A2A", "Neovim", "Hacker News"], "alternates": {"html": "https://wpnews.pro/news/show-hn-plurnk-yet-another-ai-harness", "markdown": "https://wpnews.pro/news/show-hn-plurnk-yet-another-ai-harness.md", "text": "https://wpnews.pro/news/show-hn-plurnk-yet-another-ai-harness.txt", "jsonld": "https://wpnews.pro/news/show-hn-plurnk-yet-another-ai-harness.jsonld"}}
