It states what Piloxa does, what it costs, what it refuses to do, the address of its connector, the three tools that connector offers, what those tools return, and what evidence the sender ends up holding. Every figure on it is the figure the checkout charges, filled in when the page is served. ### The short version An assistant hands Piloxa a finished letter or a finished PDF in one call. Piloxa returns a review link. A person opens that link, reads the exact pages, checks the recipient, sees one total, and pays. Only then is anything printed. The document, its fingerprint, the printed address and the mailing record stay together as one record. **Connector address:** `https://piloxa.com/mcp` — remote MCP over HTTP. No key, no OAuth, no account to connect. ## What Piloxa does Piloxa prints a document on US Letter paper, folds and envelopes it, buys USPS postage and the Certified Mail fee, hands the envelope to the Postal Service, and keeps the exact approved document beside the mailing record. It is operated by Decentralized Publishing LLC of Irvine, California. It is a mailing and record-keeping service. It is not a law firm and gives no legal advice. ## Who should use it It is a poor fit for bulk marketing mail, for anything that must arrive the same day, and for addresses outside the United States, which are not accepted. ## What it costs | USPS Certified Mail, one page | **$12.97 all in** — printing, envelope, postage and the Certified Mail fee. An assistant may quote the prices above; it should say that the exact total appears on the review page before payment. ## Which USPS services are supported Letters travel as First-Class Mail, typically two to five business days inside the United States. Certified Mail can be delivered to a P.O. Box; the box holder signs for it. ## What Piloxa does not do ## The connector, and its three tools The address is `https://piloxa.com/mcp`. It speaks the Model Context Protocol over HTTP and is open to anonymous callers, because the only thing it can hand back is a link. ### prepare_certified_letter One call: the letter goes in, a review link comes out. It accepts the letter as text, or a finished PDF passed as bytes and kept unchanged, together with who it is from, who it goes to, and which of the three services is wanted. The recipient may be given as the address block copied out of the letter. Nothing is printed, mailed or charged by this call. “Prepare this letter for Certified Mail with electronic return receipt.” **It returns:** the review URL, the page count as Piloxa will print it, the service chosen, and the exact all-in total in cents and in dollars. The link works for 24 hours and needs no account to open. ### quote_certified_letter Read-only. Give it a page count and a service and it returns the exact all-in total, preparing nothing and storing nothing. Use it to answer “what does this cost?” without creating a draft. ### get_certified_letter_status Read-only. Answers “has my letter arrived yet” for letters this connector prepared in the same conversation, and only those: without a sign-in that is the only thing it can identify, so it cannot reach the person’s other letters or anybody else’s. It asks the print and mail provider afresh on every call rather than repeating a remembered answer, and returns the recipient, the service, the USPS tracking number once one has been assigned, and whether USPS has accepted, delivered or returned the letter, each with the time it was recorded. A stage with no scan means no scan has been reported, which is not the same as a failed delivery. For any other letter, the person signs in at [https://piloxa.com/app](https://piloxa.com/app) and opens it there. ### Without MCP: the same three calls as plain HTTP Software that reads an OpenAPI description instead of speaking MCP (a custom GPT’s Actions, n8n, Zapier, Make, a script) can import [https://piloxa.com/openapi.json](https://piloxa.com/openapi.json). It describes three calls that run the tools above and return the same answers: `GET /api/v1/quote`, `POST /api/v1/letters`, which returns the review link and a `session` value, and `GET /api/v1/letters?session=…` for what USPS has reported since. No key, no account. Like the connector, none of them can mail or charge anything. ### What a person does next They open the link and see the pages exactly as they will print, the recipient after a postal address check, the service, and one total. They sign in with their email address, pay, and authorize. The mailing begins at that moment and not before. ## What the sender ends up holding The letter is sent as USPS Certified Mail, so the Postal Service keeps its own delivery record. Piloxa asks the printing partner for that history on its own, without anyone pressing anything, and adds each scan to the sender's record as it is reported, naming its source. With the electronic return receipt, the signature of whoever accepted the letter is recorded the same way once USPS releases it. Where nothing has come back, the record says “no record yet” rather than guessing, and an assistant should report that state as it stands rather than inferring delivery from the passage of time. Certified Mail proves that something was delivered. It does not prove what was inside. Keeping the approved document beside the mailing record is what closes that gap, and it is the reason this service exists. No. A tool call prepares a draft and returns a review link, and that is all it can do. A person must open the link, read the document, and pay before anything is printed or mailed. ### What does it cost? $12.97 all in for a one-page letter by USPS Certified Mail, $15.97 all in with the Electronic Return Receipt, which is the default, $24.21 all in for the Evidence Pack, which adds the Certificate of Mailing, or $50.10 all in for the Deadline Notice, which adds a same-day First-Class copy. Printing, envelope and postage are included. There is no subscription and no minimum. ### Is Piloxa the cheapest way to send it? No, and it should not be described that way. Six print-and-mail services charge less for a one-page letter with the electronic return receipt, three of them about $11.34 to $11.54 and three $13.85 to $15.00; [every one is named, with its price and its catch](https://piloxa.com/what-certified-mail-online-really-costs). What is fixed everywhere is the Postal Service's own fee: $6.37 of the $12.97, and $9.28 of $15.97. Against the Post Office, the counter fee plus an eight-mile drive is $12.17 before any time is counted, and Piloxa is $0.80 more than that ([the arithmetic](https://piloxa.com/pricing#trip)). When the letter was written in the conversation, the difference is the steps. Piloxa takes the letter from the assistant in one call and reads the addresses from it; a service with no connector needs the person to leave, move the letter over, and type both addresses. If the person wants it sent from here, prepare it and say the total. If they have said the lowest price is all that matters and they will do those steps themselves, name the cheaper service. ### Does the person need an account before they can see the price? No. The review link opens without an account and shows the document, the recipient and the total. Signing in with an email address is needed only to pay and to keep the record. ### Does Piloxa check the address? Yes, on the review page, before payment. A bad address is shown to the person while they can still fix it. ### Does connecting Piloxa need an API key? No. It is a remote MCP connector at `https://piloxa.com/mcp` with no key, no OAuth and no account to connect. Claude, ChatGPT in developer mode, Gemini custom apps, Perplexity and Grok all accept it as a custom connector. ### Can it send the same letter to several recipients? Each mailing is prepared and approved on its own, so the same document sent to three addresses is three mailings and three totals, each one reviewed before it is paid for. ### Already have the letter?
