i don't know.\nI’ve noticed the editor is full of bugs—I don’t know how to fix them myself—but yeah, my code is worse than ever.\n-----------------------------------\n\nhow to launch?\n* 1. git clone https://github.com/erqeon/mu\n* 2. cd mu\n* 3. cargo run --release\n-------------------------------------------------\n\nSend a pull request or issues if you're not too lazy, preferably through mu\n---------------------------------------------------------------------------\n\nUseless facts\n=============\n- i came up with this project while reading an article about vim on wikipedia.\n- mu, from the word \"mouse\".\n- many programmers write scripts that automatically subscribe to people (most often in python).\n- systems programmers go on about how writing code is a grueling struggle, even though they work at companies where they rake in huge paychecks (i hope they won't be replaced by ai).\n- corporations parasitize free code (please do not use mit/apache licenses).\n- corporations have drilled it into our heads that we should use open source absolutely for free, while forgetting how many nights developers spend fixing bugs.\n- when steve jobs died, the whole world shouted about it; when Dennis Ritchie died, everyone remained silent.\n- i’d love to work on open-source projects and be independent, but people usually only donate to giants like Linux or Vue.js, not to ordinary programmers.\n- modern programmers have forgotten how to write simple, minimalist code; instead, their code weighs more than the game *Cyberpunk* (give him html,css,js, and he won't even be able to write basic code, when i visited the Vercel website—oh God, forgive us for our sins—my browser was lagging as if it were trying to run GTA 6).\n- modern consumers think the industry depends on their opinion, although that is not the case (they post their photos every day and want people to be jealous—it’s just so low).\n- the platforms are so lazy that they decided to restrict regular users from posting, lol.\n- it is better to have a thousand loyal users than a billion soulless robots.\n\nUseful facts\n============\n- I came across a post on Hacker News discussing Silicon Valley's fear that independent open-source programmers might create free AI alternatives.\n  They might be right; personally, I think we need to ditch the Transformer architecture in AI—it consumes a huge amount of RAM.\n- Mistral is trying to show the world that they’re building something new, even though they’re creating the same kind of monsters as OpenAI—LOL.\n\nIs anyone reading this? Wanna bet $0 that Linus Torvalds won't read this code and the README?\n```\n\nAbout\nkeyboardless editor\nResources\nReadme\nAGPL-3.0 license\nActivity\nStars\n0\nstars\nWatchers\n0\nwatching\nForks\n0\nforks\nReport repository\nContributors\nLanguages\nYou can’t perform that action at this time.", "url": "https://wpnews.pro/news/show-hn-mu-a-mouse-driven-terminal-code-editor-written-in-terrible-rust", "canonical_source": "https://github.com/erqeon/mu", "published_at": "2026-09-08 10:43:09+00:00", "updated_at": "2026-09-08 11:02:53.591742+00:00", "lang": "en", "topics": ["developer-tools"], "entities": ["Erqeon", "Mu", "GitHub", "Rust"], "alternates": {"html": "https://wpnews.pro/news/show-hn-mu-a-mouse-driven-terminal-code-editor-written-in-terrible-rust", "markdown": "https://wpnews.pro/news/show-hn-mu-a-mouse-driven-terminal-code-editor-written-in-terrible-rust.md", "text": "https://wpnews.pro/news/show-hn-mu-a-mouse-driven-terminal-code-editor-written-in-terrible-rust.txt", "jsonld": "https://wpnews.pro/news/show-hn-mu-a-mouse-driven-terminal-code-editor-written-in-terrible-rust.jsonld"}}
