          Your AI can hear words.

FrameCap lets it see.

When you ask ChatGPT or Claude about a YouTube video, it only reads the spoken transcript—it cannot see the screen. FrameCap snaps the key visual moments so your free AI can see the exact settings, recipes, formulas, and slides.

## What is FrameCap?

FrameCap is a free Chrome extension that lets AI "watch" a YouTube video. One click captures what is said (a timestamped transcript from the video's captions) and what is shown (sharp frames of the screen, each with a timestamp). It then sends both to ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini or Perplexity as a PDF, or downloads them as a ZIP for AI coding agents like Claude Code, Codex and Cursor. Everything runs inside your browser, with no account and no API key.

## Three Simple Steps

And only the first one needs you.

1.
1### 1. Click the ButtonClick the FrameCap button on any YouTube video—whether it's an Excel guide, terminal commands, or deeply technical work.
2.
2### 2. Snaps The MomentsFrameCap captures a sharp frame every few seconds (you choose 1 to 15) and reads the captions as a timestamped transcript, right inside your browser.
3.
3### 3. Your AI AnswersChatGPT, Claude, Gemini or Perplexity opens with a PDF of the frames and a ready prompt. Or download a ZIP for Claude Code, Codex or Cursor.

## AI can hear what people say in videos. But it's blind to what they show.

When someone in a video says *"click right here,"* regular AI has no idea where "here" is. See the difference:

### "Just type this exact line into your box..."

The person types a formula on screen and hits Enter, but never reads out the brackets, commas, or symbols out loud.

**You:** What was the exact formula they used at 03:45?

**ChatGPT:**"I don't know. The speaker never read the formula out loud—they just said

*'type this exact line'*. I can't see their screen."

**What happens to you:** You pause every 2 seconds, squint at a blurry frame, and retype it letter-by-letter.

### Now your AI can actually see it

FrameCap shows your AI the screen, so it reads the exact line directly off the video for you.

**You:** What was the exact formula they used at 03:45?

**ChatGPT:**"At 03:45, the formula typed on screen is:

`=XLOOKUP(A2, Data!A:A, Data!D:D, "Not Found")`"
**What happens to you:** One click to copy. Paste into your file in 2 seconds. Zero squinting.

## What Happens When You Click 'Send to AI'

No manual downloading, no screenshots, and no file uploads. FrameCap bridges YouTube directly to your favorite AI.

### Everything Your AI Needs in 1 Click

FrameCap captures the important moments from the video and links them with the speaker's words. You click once, and your AI opens with the complete picture ready to chat.

- ✓ All key moments captured — your AI sees every slide and code snippet
- ✓ No manual screenshots — FrameCap captures and packs the frames for you
- ✓ Ready in 1 click — in ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini or Perplexity
- ✓ Super-clear text and code — easy to read for spreadsheets, programming, and diagrams

**You:**"Summarize this tutorial and show me the formula typed on screen."

**ChatGPT:**"I can see the video frames and read the speech! Here is the formula and exact steps from the video..."

## Whatever You Watch on YouTube, FrameCap Works

Where AI eyes make the critical difference. Real scenarios where spoken audio leaves you guessing, but visual notes give your AI total clarity.

### Instant AI Assistant from YouTube Video

Watching a complex tutorial—like a tricky terminal setup or building a website—and hit an unexpected error while trying it yourself? Ask your AI to watch the video and solve it for you.

-
**Follow along without getting stuck:** When commands fail or screens look different on your computer, you don't need to rewatch the whole video.
-
**One-click visual context:** Sends the frames and the transcript to your AI chat (ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini or Perplexity) with a ready prompt.
-
**AI spots what you missed:** The AI can easily watch the video moments to catch hidden settings, omitted terminal flags, or version differences you couldn't see.
-
**Readable on free AI plans:** Frames go in as one PDF with only 2 or 4 frames per page, so small code and text stay sharp.

### Coding Tutorials & Commands

When a YouTube creator writes code or terminal commands, your AI extracts the exact text so you never have to pause and retype.

### Lectures & Online Courses

Turn blackboard handwriting, math formulas, and slide decks into clean study guides and exam notes in seconds.

### Excel & Work Software

Grab complex spreadsheet formulas, data tables, and software settings without squinting at blurry paused frames.

### Tech Fixes & How-To Guides

Spot the exact checkbox or setting the creator clicked to solve your computer glitch without rewinding 5 times.

## How Much Time Will You Get Back?

Slide to choose how many tutorials, tech videos, or coding walkthroughs you watch per week.

## Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about how FrameCap works and keeps you safe.

Most AI chats can't play a YouTube video from a link. At best they read the captions or the page text, so they never see the code, slides or settings shown on screen. FrameCap captures sharp frames of the video and its transcript, and gives your AI both.

Yes. FrameCap is 100% free for YouTube videos. No credit card, no subscription, no API key. A Pro version (local video files, more AI agent features) is coming later.

No. FrameCap only works on YouTube, and it only captures when you click it. It has no access to your passwords, browsing history or other tabs, and it never sends your data to a server.

A transcript only has the spoken words. If a creator says "click here", types a command without reading it out, or shows a chart, the transcript misses it. FrameCap adds sharp, timestamped frames of the screen, so your AI gets what was said and what was shown.

Open any YouTube video, click the FrameCap button on the page, then click "Send to AI". Pick ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini or Perplexity, and FrameCap opens it with a PDF of the frames, the transcript and a ready prompt. Auto-paste is optional: your browser asks permission for that AI site the first time. For coding agents like Claude Code, Codex or Cursor, switch to AI Agents mode to download a ZIP instead.

FrameCap works on YouTube videos up to 60 minutes. You choose how often it captures a frame (every 1 to 15 seconds) and which part of the video. Longer videos and live streams aren't supported yet. The transcript needs the video to have captions; auto-generated captions work.

When installing, Chrome shows a standard security notice stating *"FrameCap can read and change your data on youtube.com"*. This appears because FrameCap needs permission to take screenshots directly from the video playing on your screen and read the video's timestamp. FrameCap never monitors other tabs, never touches passwords, and never sends your data to any external server.
