Show HN: Hurston-1 open source TTS that speak Southern American and Afro-English

A Hacker News "Show HN" post introduced Hurston-1, an open-source text-to-speech model hosted on Hugging Face under the user destined that is designed to speak Southern American and Afro-English dialects. The submission's body contained no technical details, benchmarks or licensing information, only two AI-generated placeholder summaries referencing Mistral Large and Llama 4 Maverick rate limits. The release matters as an attempt to extend open TTS coverage to regional and cultural language varieties that mainstream speech models rarely target.
