v2.10.0 has been released! For details, please see the release notes.
Many thanks to all the contributors and sponsors on GitHub Sponsors and Patreon — your support is greatly appreciated!
Ebitengine v2.10 requires Go 1.25 or later. The main new features are as follows:
- Pure Go on Desktop Platforms
- macOS and Linux / BSD builds no longer require Cgo. Ebitengine games can now be built for all desktop platforms with Go alone, making cross-compilation easier.
- Application Virtualization (VM)
- Run an Ebitengine application as a guest controlled by a host. Embed games in another application or automate testing with input injection and rendering and audio capture. An opt-in build tag enables headless testing by programs and AI agents.
- Shader Precompilation
- The experimental
exp/shaderprecomppackage reduces runtime shader compilation work and can shorten times. - Color Emoji and Text Rendering Improvements
- The
text/v2package now renders color emoji and improves bidirectional text handling. IME input is also supported on more platforms.
We look forward to your feedback!
