For the past two decades I've been looking for something that allows me to easily build complex and pretty UIs in places that are generally hostile to complex and pretty UIs aka game engines. Solutions do exists but they either include awkward pricing structures or required embedding something like CEF. Though it would be interesting to see how far QuickJS and Skia take me so decided to conjure something up with the help of Claude.
While the system is geared towards games there is nothing preventing one from using it to build standalone apps.
Perf wise the system is starting to be pretty good and on native most of the time beats chrome rendering the same UI. When embedded inside games it usually adds about +0.04 / +0.08 ms per frame. WASM/WebGPU still has lots of optimisation especially when it comes to the pipeline compilations (lag when you first start using the site).
Additional bonus is that LLM get trained with massive amounts of HTML and React code that readily available while engine specific UI code mostly benefits from general UI patterns LLMs have learned elsewhere.

I've had the dream of building this for a while and it definitely would not have been possible without Opus 5.5.
