Show HN: Credit against tokenised stocks for agents. punish us please

Vaaya launched a product that lets AI agents buy tokenized stocks on the Base network and borrow against those holdings at 100% loan-to-value, with every $1,000 in last-valued holdings adding $1,000 to an agent's credit limit. The service connects via MCP, a TypeScript SDK (@vaaya/sdk), or Python, and supports tokenized stocks including NVIDIA, Apple, Alphabet, Amazon, Microsoft, Meta, Tesla, Strategy, SanDisk, and SpaceX. Selling and withdrawals are not yet available in Vaaya, and the company notes credit is a repayment obligation while holdings remain exposed to market gains and losses.

Borrow against them.

Let your agent buy tokenized stocks, then borrow against them to pay for models, research, and compute. You keep the shares and control what your agent spends.

Connect with MCP, TypeScript, or Python. Buy and hold today.

Buy shares with your agent. #

Choose a stock and a dollar amount. Your agent handles the purchase through MCP or an SDK.

Borrow against the holdings. #

Every $1 in last-valued holdings adds $1 to your agent’s credit limit.

Pay for your agent’s work. #

Pay for models, search, and compute from one account. Set a spending limit for each agent.

Stocks your agent can buy. #

Buy a few dollars of NVIDIA, Apple, or any of the stocks below using your prepaid balance. Your agent can check what’s available and get a price before placing an order.

Availability is subject to issuer restrictions and liquidity. Token units may differ from underlying share units. Read the Base token documentation and product disclosures and eligibility. Selling and withdrawals are not yet available in Vaaya.

Turn your portfolio into credit. #

You don’t have to sell your shares to cover your agent’s next task. Use them to back a credit line for the services it needs, while you stay invested. Your shares can rise or fall in value, and any credit you use still needs to be repaid.

  • 100% loan-to-value (1:1)
  • $1,000 in last-valued holdings adds $1,000 to the credit limit. LTV means credit drawn divided by collateral value; using $250 of that limit is 25% LTV.
  • Available after confirmation and valuation
  • The credit limit updates as holdings are valued. No separate borrow transaction or card is required to unlock share credit.
  • Stay invested, with market exposure
  • Your holdings remain invested and can gain or lose value. Credit is a repayment obligation, not investment income.

Buy shares with an SDK or MCP. #

Connect Vaaya, fund your prepaid balance, and give your agent permission to buy. Use the SDK in your application or expose the stocks tool through MCP. Restricted API keys need the stocks category.

TypeScript SDK

npm install @vaaya/sdk

import { Vaaya } from '@vaaya/sdk'

const vaaya = new Vaaya() // VAAYA_API_KEY

// Discover stocks and preview a $20 purchase.
const { stocks } = await vaaya.stocks.list()
const quote = await vaaya.stocks.quote('NVDAc', 2000)

// Persist this key before submitting; reuse on retry.
const purchaseKey = 'nvda-purchase-001'
const order = await vaaya.stocks.buy(
  'NVDAc', 2000, purchaseKey
)

// Check again until confirmed or failed.
const receipt = await vaaya.stocks.order(order.id)
const portfolio = await vaaya.stocks.portfolio()

MCP tool: stocks

Example tool arguments · one call at a time

// Call the stocks tool to discover available tokens.
{ "command": "list" }

// Buy $20 of NVIDIA after the user's instruction.
{
  "command": "buy",
  "symbol": "NVDAc",
  "amount_cents": 2000,
  "idempotency_key": "nvda-purchase-001"
}

// Check settlement using the returned order ID.
{ "command": "order", "order_id": "<returned-order-id>" }

Amounts are in cents. A quote previews a purchase; a buy obtains a fresh quote. Reuse a purchase’s idempotency key after an interrupted request. Queued or submitted does not mean settled: check order status before treating holdings as purchased.

Put share-backed credit to work. #

Give your agent access to the tools it needs without managing a separate balance for every provider. Vaaya handles payments and keeps a record of each call. You decide which services your agent can use and how much it can spend.

Once holdings are confirmed and valued, keep using the same SDK for paid work:

const research = await vaaya.one.search(
  { query: 'What changed in the latest NVIDIA earnings?' },
  { maxCostCents: 5 }
)

The call checks your available balance and credit. No separate borrow API call.

How it works, in detail. #

What you can buy, how borrowing works, and what’s available today.

Can my agent trade stocks today? #

The current stock interface supports discovery, quotes, buying, order status, and portfolio reads through MCP, TypeScript, and Python. It is buy-and-hold today: selling and withdrawals are not yet available in Vaaya. Purchase availability depends on the stock and trading being enabled.

What exactly am I holding? #

Coinbase-issued tokenized stocks on Base, held in a managed wallet for your Vaaya account. These are tokens representing exposure to the underlying equity, with issuer terms and transfer restrictions. Token units are not always equal to underlying shares. This is not a self-custody brokerage account.

Do I need to apply for a separate loan? #

No separate loan call is required. Once confirmed holdings have been valued, their last known value adds to your account’s spending capacity automatically. Share credit does not require a card to unlock. Your agent uses the same service calls and spending controls as before.

How is credit repaid? #

Using credit creates an account balance to repay; investment gains do not automatically pay the bill. Existing card collection still applies when a card is on file: weekly, or sooner when drawn credit passes $50. This release does not add a separate share-loan repayment schedule or automatic sale of holdings. See Pricing for account billing and contact us for questions about cardless repayment.

What happens if the stock price falls? #

A lower holdings valuation reduces the share-backed credit limit. Outstanding spending remains owed, and further calls must fit the account’s available spending capacity. Valuations use last known prices and can lag the market. The current implementation does not provide automatic liquidation or downside protection.

Give your agent a portfolio. #

And a way to put it to work.

One account for investing, credit, and the services your agent needs.
