Show HN: Confetti – Start designing hardware with plain English prompts Tianyi and Lucas launched Confetti, a YC F26 platform that turns plain-English prompts into hardware designs, at confetti.build. Confetti combines text- or image-prompt CAD generation, automatic sourcing of compatible off-the-shelf electronics with wiring and firmware, manufacturing quotes and orders, and a community for sharing and remixing builds. The founders said they built the platform after struggling with modeling software, component sourcing, enclosures, wiring and manufacturing while prototyping a home AI device. Hey HN We're Tianyi and Lucas from Confetti YC F26 https://confetti.build/ https://confetti.build/ . We’re building a platform that helps you turn your ideas into physical things using plain English. Take a look at a quick demo video here: https://youtu.be/UhtAs4mg5O8 https://youtu.be/UhtAs4mg5O8 Making hardware has always required layers of expertise: learning modeling software, sourcing compatible components, designing enclosures, wiring, firmware, and finding someone to manufacture it all. We experienced this firsthand while prototyping a home AI device we wanted to build. We didn't have too much experience in hardware and every step opened up more questions. We spent so much time figuring out the process before we could make progress on the thing itself, so we built Confetti to make it easier to get started. Confetti puts the whole process on one platform, driven by natural language: - CAD: generate and edit 3D designs from text or image prompts - Electronics: automatic sourcing for compatible off-the-shelf parts, wiring, and firmware - Manufacturing: get quotes and place orders to get parts sent straight to your doorstep - Community: share, remix, and personalize builds from other makers for yourself In the same way that AI has made it much easier for people to build software, we think that we can use AI to enable a lot more people to start building the ideas they have for physical projects too.
