However, all of those require significant time commitment. I was looking for something in a 5-minute-morning-briefing format, so I built it myself.\n\nIdea is pretty simple - every morning a pipeline is launched by cron on my raspberry pi. It crawls a few news sources (HN, reddit, tech crunch etc.) , aggregates, deduplicates and rates the news based on importance, then writes a blog posts with an overview and publishes it on the blog. This lets me quickly get up-to-speed and follow links for topics I want to explore in-depth. I also included key feedback from the community discussion which turned out to add a bit of \"flavor\" for otherwise plain news reading.\n\nI also added a podcast and newsletter format; I myself prefer to read it directly on the website but occasionally I can give it a listen instead if I'm for example traveling somewhere.\n\nIt turned out pretty great if you ask me.
