Frigade released Yap, an open-source, on-device dictation app for macOS 26 (Tahoe) on Apple Silicon, positioned as a private alternative to Wispr Flow. Yap uses Apple's on-device Speech framework, requires no account, API key, or telemetry, saves transcripts locally, and works offline with no network code.
